Adapted sport is an expression of the equality we human beings have the right to. Women and men express, communicate and better themselves through sports practice, striving to get the excellence levels required to take part in the Paralympic Games.

The Fundación Andalucía Olímpica -a project that is only possible thanks to the will of the whole society, as reflected in the backing provided by the Andalusian companies and institutions, which enables our best athletes to reach the winners' podium- also supports the paralympian athletes.

Besides an appropriate and well measured training, reaching success requires the integration of the various researches, works and thinking processes making up today's sports science. This is why the Fundación Andalucía Olímpica organizes in Malaga, the seat of its Paralympic section, the 2nd International Conference on Adapted Sport. On the occasion, the main experts in the field will address organization, technical improvement and medical issues, as well as the paralympic athletes themselves and their reality.

On the other hand, the Conference will undertake the definition of the social circumstances surrounding this increasingly wide sports phenomenon. The role of the media and the society as a whole is essential so that we may see as a reality in the streets what is already so in its protagonists and in those who know that all human beings are equal, and at the same time plural and different.

The theme of the 2nd Conference is:

Adapted Sport at the Start of the 21st Century

Interdisciplinary Development of its Scope of Action
